Auckland is the largest and most heavily populated City in New Zealand and is home to over 30% of the Country’s population. It is unique in the fact it is situated between 2 harbours on opposite sides of the North Island. The Auckland region is made up of four Cities including Auckland itself. The other three are Manakau, Waitakere and North Shore. Auckland has a large international airport and is surrounded by a myriad of multicultural suburbs which provide a diverse range of activities for the traveller. The inner City is a buzzing metropolis with a good choice of shopping and dining options to suit all tastes and budgets. The Sky Tower commands the landscape and at 328 metres in height offers a panoramic view across the harbour and city sights. There is a casino and restaurant at the top providing the perfect place to relax and admire the view. Auckland is known as the City of Sails and has a large boating fraternity both at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron marina and throughout Auckland’s beautiful bays. The harbour is a busy place with the main focus being the Auckland Harbour Bridge which connects to the North Shore and Davenport.

The bridge is popular for bungy jumping and scenic climbs and the harbour has a good choice of boat cruises.
